Pere Lachaise

>> 12.30.2009

I ended up going to the Pere Lachaise cemetary and decided to share some photos. It was really overcast when I arrived and a funeral was taking place- it was quite somber, but stil beautiful. It's odd, tourists are literally crawling through the cemetary while locals are there mourning their relatives, it's almost embarrassing to be taking photos. But, of course, I did (discretely). Voila!

Beautiful pictures! The brilliant green against the aged stone is so dramatic, and your composure is perfect. I'm so glad you have found some friends to travel around with. I feel better knowing that you are not alone, but I am still making myself sick worrying. Did you move to your new hostel yesterday? Hopefully it is a little better than the last. I spent the last few nights working on a New Years Eve cake for Marilyn's big AA auction/party. I'm so excited to do the actual decorating tonight - it's great to have a creative outlet. Love you lots! Mom

These pictures are beautiful Rachel! Haha yeah, I bet it was strange to take pictures while a funeral was going on.
If you have any spare time, you must visit the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris for me and take some pictures. I have always wanted to see what European conservatories look like :)
